The Westerleigh
725 -22nd Street, West Vancouver, B.C.
DESCRIPTION
BFA provided full interior design services for the building, including millwork design and furniture selection, carrying on the established modern theme of the facility intended for sophisticated West Vancouver seniors. Every element of the interior scheme was carefully considered in response to the ergonomics of elderly residents, based on a thorough understanding of seniors’ facilities. The comprehensive integrated interior design scheme included an off-site presentation centre, the residential apartments and all common areas. This encompassed a hotel-style 137-seat dining room, a bistro, a dedicated private dining room, various lounges, an auditorium, a multipurpose room, a library, an art studio, a music room, an exercise area, a wellness centre and administrative offices. A Gordon Smith painting was purchased by the Client to be the focal point in the main lobby lounge and it acted as a guiding source of interior design inspiration. As an adjunct to the Seniors residence, BFA also provided interior design for two leased spaces within the building for two separate community-oriented tenants—Capilano Eldercollege and the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce
