BFA Studio Architects are proud to be the architects for Oceana PARC Retirement Living, winner of the SHN Architecture & Design Awards for best Independent Living building 2020.

Located in White Rock B.C, the project combines seniors independent living with expansive amenities and a mixed use/retail element that allows residents to stay in and be fully connected with the community they love.

The 7th annual SHN Architecture & Design Awards is an international competition, judged by a group of renowned industry leaders and experts consisting of Architects, Interior Designers and Urban Planners.

Farewell Shane - 25 Years of Commitment & Inspiration

After 25 years, Co- Founder & Principal, Shane Friars has left BFA to begin his well earned retirement. Shane has been an integral part of the firm and source of inspiration to BFA from the very beginning. Everyone at BFA would like to wish Shane all the best for his retirement and thank him for his dedication, commitment and leadership

To mark this special occasion BFA principals Helen, Daniel, David & Jamie organised a retirement event for Shane in the beautiful Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver. Together with others, Helen was involved with the evolution of the Polygon Gallery project from design to the end of construction as a member of the Board of Directors and Faculty Committee. Helen was an active member of the team and held a work charrette with Reid Shier and other committee members to kick off the fundraising campaign.
