DESCRIPTION

Located on a unique waterfront property, the 2,230 sq. ft. residence is a sustainable West Coast modern design, used as a vacation retreat for a busy couple and their family. It is situated on the south-facing high bank overlooking Georgia Strait, providing a dramatic Pacific Northwest island setting. The building plan is created through the intersecting geometries of two small “cottages”; one is the living / playing space and the other is the quiet bedroom space. The use of wood materials and exposed structural elements is heavily emphasized both inside and outside the home, with minimal drywall finishing used in the interior.
